Young artist, who was in legal trouble, inspires ‘Art Walls’
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Rapid City has ‘Art Alley’ and now Sioux Falls has something very similar called ‘Art Walls.’ As you’re about to see, it was inspired by somebody you may have heard of. The last time we met 19 year old Jaden Brunz, he was featured on CBS Mornings with David Begnaud.

Credo’s Pub opens in northwest apartment complex
Northwest Sioux Falls has a new neighborhood bar with the opening of Credo’s Pub. The pub, which has a full liquor license and 32 tap lines, is in a first-floor commercial space in one of the apartment buildings at University Hills Village along Marion Road. Credo’s Pub opened earlier this month with a limited menu of pizzas, wraps and a build-your-own salad, but that’s expected to expand this week after an electrical issue in the new space is resolved, said Ethan Harvey, one of its managers and a grandson of owner Dave Birger.

University Hills Village to add tons of apartment amenities, Kinder Academy
University Hills Village is filling up, with a second apartment building open, another coming and its first commercial tenant. The newly opened building is the second in the development and includes 126 apartments, said Jarrod Smart, owner of Smart Commercial Construction and a partner in University Hills Village. “Building Two is filling up, and we just opened it in September,” he said. “We’ve got some really cool floor plans in there. We did a new studio unit that’s been hot. We did 26 of those, and I believe they’re all spoken for.”

Public art wall announced for downtown Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - On Monday, the Washington Pavilion and the owners of the 300 Building announced a new public art initiative: The Art Walls. Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken, 300 Building Marketing & Communications Director Destiny Southern and the Washington Pavilion’s Director of Museums and Education Madelyn Grogan were all present at the press conference announcing the initiative.

Apartment of the Week: University Hills Village
An apartment community filled with amenities you won’t find anywhere else in Sioux Falls has rare new living options available. University Hills Village just opened its fourth building, giving new residents the chance to take advantage of all there is to do here. “We’re very proud of University Hills Village, and residents love it too, so we rarely have openings,” said Danielle Merrow, owner of property management company Dynamic Services.

University Hills to add fourth apartment building
As one apartment building pushes toward a 2020 opening, another already is in the works to follow it in the growing University Hills Village development. The 80-acre property west of the University Center and northwest of 54th Street North and Marion Road has steadily added residents in the past five years and will reach almost 350 units when its third building opens next year.

Second apartment project started at University Hills
Construction has started on a second large apartment building at University Hills Village, a development in northwest Sioux Falls near the University Center. The first 122-unit building opened two years ago and filled within six months, according to Danielle Merrow, broker and owner of Dynamic Real Estate LLC and a partner in the project.

From vandalism to voice: Artist's story inspires Sioux Falls mayor to create art wall downtown
It’s a full circle moment for young Sioux Falls muralist Jaden Brunz. Nearly a year after being featured on CBS Mornings’ “Beg Knows America” for his downtown Sioux Falls graffiti vandalism, Mayor Paul TenHaken announced on May 12 a public wall for artists like Brunz to create street art “without getting in trouble for it.”

University Hills Village opens newest building with pub, plans for additional development
Soon, there will be nearly 500 apartments at University Hills Village, plus a large package of amenities, including a recently opened pub. The 80-acre property west of USD – Sioux Falls and northwest of 54th Street North and Marion Road will bring on its fourth apartment building this month, adding 137 units for a total of 484. The last building to open there was in 2020, “and we have filled that,” said Danielle Merrow, broker and owner of Dynamic Real Estate LLC.

First commercial development opens at University Hills as more living space is planned
Before Kinder Academy even opened its new preschool in northwest Sioux Falls, there was a waiting list for children 2 and younger. Jennifer Schuette, who owns the business with her husband, Chris, credits the growing neighborhoods around it. “In northwest Sioux Falls, there aren’t a lot of options for people who live here or in the Hartford, Crooks or Renner areas,” she said. “I think a lot of families that drive into Sioux Falls love the location. They love the fact that I’m right there.”
